Pierre Bensusan
French-Algerian guitarist, vocalist, and composer Pierre Bensusan — known worldwide as “Mister DADGAD” — has spent five decades expanding the expressive voice of the acoustic guitar. Celebrated as Best World Music Guitarist by Guitar Player Magazine, winner of the Rose d’Or at Montreux, and an Independent Music Award recipient, Pierre’s artistry has inspired peers and legends alike, from Michael Hedges and Tommy Emmanuel to Mark Knopfler and Steve Vai.
A longtime Shubb artist, Pierre has trusted Shubb capos for their precision, tone, and reliability. To honor his remarkable 50-year journey, Shubb and Pierre have collaborated on two special editions: the Pathfinder Series C1pb Pierre Bensusan “50th” Standard Edition and the Engraved eC1pb.
Engraved with symbolic triangle motifs, the eC1pb design embodies balance, harmony, and interconnectedness — uniting past, present, and future. For Pierre, who blends global traditions into a seamless musical language, the triangle represents the fusion of cultures and creativity that defines his work. The brass finish and engraving celebrate a lifetime of exploration, artistry, and inspiration.
“I am thrilled to have been using Shubb capos for years, and grateful for them to have designed this wonderful product for the 50th anniversary of my career. I am very much honored for our collaboration and thankful for them to accompany my musical journey with so much support, quality and care.”
